when i first realized that the wtbts was not teaching the truth, i thought "well, they are basically good people and teaching some morals, so what real harm is there?"..
then i started looking at the opportunity cost.
by this i mean all the things that a jw does not have access to if they believe the wtbts nonsense.

You have summed up everything that is wrong in Jehovah land brilliantly well. The issues you have highlighted are spot on and they should be shouted from the roof tops as a warning not only to all current members of the JWs but all those who might think of joining the poisoned Witness life style. Your insight is spot on and drives home some of the main reasons why I fled that crackpot relgion.

When I was putting mileage between myself and the Witness Org. many moons ago I tried explaining to some of the brothers and sisters that I believed that JWs were no better than the rest of the run of the mill population.I used to hate the way other non Witnesses, or so called worldly people ,were looked down upon by the organisation and its followers. It's a total myth that the Brooklyn Publishing Company is God's clean channel of communication .
There are good and bad people in all religious groups. The difference between the JWs' and most other Christian groups is the fact that the Witnesses do their best to promote deep disrespect for their fellow man by following a wicked belief in their self righteousness. How many nut jobs compared with other Christian groups do they attract and influence by spreading the rubbish that the majority of the World's population is so bad they are not fit to live and will be destroyed by a so called loving Jehovah.
Not to prejudge this court case in question but if more emphasis was placed in the Watchtower on love, respect and care for all creatures on planet Earth maybe we would see less of this kind of unbelievable wicked madness.

Not that there is any comparison with Bill and myself but I'm here in the middle of the Bowland Forest with my super deluxe binoculars around my neck and up to my eyes. Searching the horizon in night vision mode I can just make out a slight movement in what is left of the few autumn leaves which have not decended to the wintry ground. It is a very still ,quiet , dark and dank moonlight night , you could say heavenly shades of night are calling as the autumn leaves drift by my furry cap. Hark there in the near distance you can hear the hoot of the owl as it communicates to it's mate " it's too wet to woo." The night life here is very subdued at this time of the year as hibernation takes hold of the creatures with body clocks that do not get put back an hour.
Actually I have been in this hide since Spring Watch and the hedgehogs keep shouting in my lug holes "GO HOME STOP MOITHERING " I think they are sending me little messages ,hints you might say telling me that I have outstayed my welcome here in this lovely forest in the heart of Lancashire . I shall jump down turn round and go back to thowd' woman as soon as I finish this cup of watter tha knows.

Art al reet and ow do, are you saying I know nowt about nowt ,e by gum ast tha not bin up to Bowton lately? I feel reet flummoxed now ,I need to sit down and have a swig of some corporation pop and have a chew of me jam butty. It was only yesterday that I nearly had kittens after some body told me to shut my cake hole .
Anyroad I feel champion now because I did have a bit of a cob on, but I have now got together a bit more brass so I can buy more clobber . As winter draws on I need the the reet clobber because I don't half feel cowd . These nights get a bit parky tha knows and it makes me feel reet owd. Al be spitting feathers at the first signs o snow.

In the UK when the Jdubs knock us up on a Saturday morning we tell them, " go sling your hook. " and up north in Lancashire we say," Ist all reet lad?" meaning "how are you man " If you live in Stoke on Trent you are greeted by the words "Hello duck" or "cheerio duck," depending on whether you are coming or going. If you are in London or Landen it's, "cor love a duck!,do my mince pies deceive me,? have a butchers at that tasty bird taking a ball of chalk down the frog and toad. Or another expression might be ," cor blimey! my plates of meat are killing me. " That would come about, of course by too much walking about admiring the bird with the magnificent threpenny bits.

my definition would be a an exploitive and manipulating free wheeling religious publishing company.. i might add none of this would have been at all possible without the freedom of religion policy of the united states.. it very well started out that way and continues to this very day.. intellectually dishonest but very commercial in its intension.. .
Briefly in a word, selfish.
It seems to me that most of the participants in this excuse for Christianity are all trying to save their own skins. Their main motivation for going from door to door is not to save others from the big A , but to protect their themselves from destruction , simply because they have been brainwashed to think that way. The main culprits at the top should be sued for negligent false imformation on a constant basis.It's fear of destruction too that keeps them from saving their childrens' lives when they a need blood transfusion. Etc. Etc. Etc.
was at the kingdumb hell yesterday after a gap.. paragraph 11 planted the seed in the sheeples' heads for this.. remember last weeks study, where martha was quoted as saying: "i know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.
" (jo 11: 24) the term "last day" was explained as applying to the millennium, in the same way as "judgment day" for those receiving an earthly resurrection.. now for paragraph 11 - i noticed some bemused faces, as usually john 6 is avoided in articles discussing earthly resurrection:.

Jesus issued a command to all his disciples '' keep doing this in rememberance of me".
I do not recollect any mention of him saying '' Oh! while I'm on the subject don't all of you partake ,some of you,the majority,just sit and stare at the wine and wafers and say pass it on. However, don't bother your minds about it just yet because,that bit about the majority ,well it doesn't take effect until the Twentieth Century gets under way."
When did Jesus teach the Watchtower doctrine? Not then, not now, not ever. It seems to me that the majority who professed christianity until the Jdubs came along partook by drinking and eating as commanded. What the Witnesses do not realise is that it's a very serious situation to disobey a direct command by God or, if you like, an order direct from heaven. It's even more serious for the Governing Body because they are the ones ordering the Witnesses not to partake unless they belong to that exclusive class. Which is total nonsense ,all followers of Christ should be his disciples .

Not to detract from all the efforts that Simon and everybody else has put into the running of this tremendous discussion board but I agree ,black looks far better and gives more impact, the blue is insipid .That is just my personal choice however and I go along with the majority opinion. Blue is better than blank. Black makes more of a statement, don't you think?
